Lately, though, a majority of people that I chat with--heck--most people with 2 brain cells that actually still connect have enough brain power to determine that rejecting the Keystone pipeline is nothing less than pure partisan politics bordering on treason--there is not a legit reason not to do it. Environmental concerns are bullshit. Name the last major pipeline incident in the United States. Come on. I'll wait. No. Name ANY major pipeline disaster. Anywhere.
*crickets chirping....Jeopardy music playing....pictures of the seasons changing*
Thought so. Couldn't. Here. I'll help you. Here's a map of all of the major pipelines in the US.
So. Where have the trouble spots been? The major ecological disasters? Hmm. That dog just doesn't hunt. Candidate Obamessiah told us, to our faces, that energy costs would rise because of what he would do. He wasn't lying at all. And now to support him, some have to attack Canada. Yeah, let's get upset with Canada, because they want to sell us oil, in fact, would prefer to sell it to us than the ChiComs, whom are more than happy to take it and think that we are complete fools . You tell me. Which side is he on? Yours?
While I'm bitching, and you're reading...the other thing that got me thinking last night was this: During the
Obama chose to have Warren Buffet's secretary. Why? So he could point out that she pays a higher income tax rate than her boss. Which is ludicrous. Emmie pays a higher rate than Buffet. I do. So do you. Buffets income is $1/year. That's his salary...that's what he pays income tax on. One freaking dollar. The rest of his money is all capital gains and shielded in trusts. Bottom line: why the hell drag up his secretary? Is she eating Ramen noodles every night? Down to beans and weenies? If so, doesn't that reflect on Buffet badly? She's no victim, yet she's being held up as one--so that YOU feel like a victim, too, and demand that the rich pay MORE. You know who the rich are? Yeah. You are, my pal. Don't kid yourselves. 'More' mean higher effect tax rates for you and I, and the rich still keep their sheltered tax breaks, don't kid yourself.
And the money from more taxes? Yeah, that goes into a slush fund for kickbacks to campaign donors.
I'm done. Thanks for indulging me. And if you've made it this far, what the hell is wrong with you? : )
